In the battle against heart disease, Gwinnett Medical Center is proud to provide our community with comprehensive heart care at our state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
This important facility is used in emergency situations to perform minimally invasive cardiac procedures, as well as non-emergent diagnostic cardiac testing and interventional peripheral procedures.
Our services include:
- Carotid angiography
This is a type of X-ray used to view the carotid arteries. - Carotid angioplasty
A minimally invasive technique used to widen or open a narrowed or obstructed carotid artery. - Coronary angiography
This is a type of X-ray used to view the coronary arteries. - Coronary angioplasty
A minimally invasive technique used to widen or open a narrowed or obstructed coronary artery. - Cardiac catheterization
Can include a number of procedures, including angioplasty or percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). - Coronary stents
These are small, metal, mesh-like tubes used to wide or open a blockage in a narrowed artery. - Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)
Commonly referred to as a coronary angioplasty. - Peripheral angioplasty
This is a procedure used to widen or open a narrowed peripheral artery. - Tilt table testing
A simple test doctors use to determine the reason for a patient’s fainting. - Transesophogeal echocardiography
This is an echocardiogram taken through the patient’s neck.
